
Christopher Covino
Senior Researcher
Chris is an experienced public policy professional with expertise in cybersecurity, infrastructure protection, risk management, and emergency management. Before joining as a Senior Researcher, he supported IAPS as a Senior Policy Advisor and served as an AI Policy Fellow. He previously worked as a strategy and policy advisor at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and served as Policy Director for Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security in the City of Los Angeles Mayor's Office. Chris has also worked at San Diego County's Office of Emergency Services, the University of Southern California's (USC) Center for Risk and Economic Analysis of Threats and Emergencies (CREATE), and as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). He holds a Master's in Public Administration from USC and a Bachelor's in Clinical Exercise Science from Ithaca College.
