Leigh Nolan

Policy Director

Leigh has 14 years of national security experience in the U.S. government, including roles with the White House National Security Staff, the Department of Defense, and the Department of State. She most recently served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Defense Continuity and Mission Assurance and as Acting Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Homeland Defense and Hemispheric Affairs. She is an adjunct lecturer on leadership, ethics, and decision-making at Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies and a former Boren Graduate Fellow in Yemen and Fulbright Teaching Fellow in South Korea. She holds a BA from Swarthmore College and a MALD and PhD in International Relations from the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy at Tufts University.
