Leigh Nolan Appointed as Policy Director

Strengthening its leadership team, the Institute for AI Policy and Strategy (IAPS) announces the appointment of Leigh Nolan as Policy Director.

In our search for a new Policy Director, Leigh’s rich experience of navigating complex policy environments, her strong judgment, and deep commitment to the IAPS mission stood out.”

Spanning 14 years of national security experience in the U.S. government, Leigh has previously held positions with the White House National Security Staff, the Department of Defense, and the Department of State. Most recently, she was the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Defense Continuity and Mission Assurance, and Acting Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense, Homeland Defense and Hemispheric Affairs. 

In her new role at IAPS, she will be responsible for advancing IAPS’s mission of connecting cutting-edge research with forward-looking AI policy, expanding IAPS’s partnerships and reach, and fostering relationships with stakeholders across government, industry, and expert communities.
