Renan Araujo is the Director of Programs at the Institute for AI Policy and Strategy (IAPS), where he leads the AI Policy Fellowship, the Alexandria Forum, and IAPS's portfolio of talent and field-building projects. Renan is also a research affiliate at the Oxford AI Governance Initiative. Previously, Renan also led IAPS’s International AI Strategy research workstream as research manager.

Before joining IAPS, Renan worked on AI governance programs and research at Rethink Priorities and the Institute for Law and AI, and as chief of staff to justices at a state court in Brazil. He’s a lawyer and holds a Bachelor of Law from the Federal University of Pernambuco, and a master's degree in criminal justice policy from the London School of Economics.
