Sebastian Schmidt

Sebastian Schmidt leads a new special projects workstream at IAPS and supports the expansion of existing programs such as the AI Policy Fellowship.

Previously, Sebastian co-founded Steadrise (formerly Impact Academy), an AI security field-building nonprofit.

He holds an MD and conducted public health research at the CDC, Stanford, and SSI on a mortality surveillance model that was later used to track mortality during COVID-19. He's also an executive coach and co-authored a book during his undergrad.
