Theo Bearman

Theo is a Researcher in the Frontier Security team at IAPS. Before joining IAPS, Theo was an AI Regulation and Readiness Policy Lead in the UK Government’s Department for Science, Innovation and Technology. In this role, he spearheaded the development of major policy interventions across AI security, strategic advantage and compute infrastructure. During his time as a Civil Servant, Theo also worked on cross-government policy and coordination of AI-exacerbated risks and contingency planning.

Before entering the world of policy, Theo worked on HSBC’s trading floors in London and Paris and was a consultant at Accenture. Theo holds a degree in Human, Social and Political Sciences from Jesus College, University of Cambridge, and graduated with Double First Class honours. When he is not working or thinking about AI, Theo can most likely be found at his local bridge club.
