The Institute for AI Policy and Strategy Appoints Jenny Marron as Executive Director
We are excited to announce several leadership transitions at the Institute for AI Policy and Strategy (IAPS) as we enter our next phase of growth during this increasingly important time in the field of AI policy.
Jenny Marron has been appointed Executive Director of IAPS. Since joining as Director of Policy and Engagement in October of 2024, Jenny has played a central role in strengthening IAPS’s partnerships, expanding its policy reach, and advancing forward-looking AI policy. In her new role, she will lead IAPS mission and continue fostering collaboration across government, industry, and the expert community.
“I’m thrilled to take on this new position at IAPS,” says Jenny. “Since joining the organization, I’ve been continuously impressed by the quality of work and the commitment of the entire team to advancing our mission. I’m excited to lead IAPS into this next chapter as technology advances and the need for thoughtful, research-driven AI policy ramps up.”
Jenny brings extensive experience in foreign policy, national security, and bipartisan engagement. She previously served at the White House National Security Council (NSC) and the Department of State. Her leadership will strengthen IAPS’s work equipping policymakers and industry leaders in addressing the transformative potential of AI.
Peter Wildeford, who co-founded IAPS and has since served as the Chief Advisory Executive, will now transition to the role of Chief Strategy Officer. As the organization scales, Peter steps into this new position to continue guiding IAPS’s long-term vision and strategic research priorities.
“I’m very proud of the work and growth of IAPS to date,” says Peter. “This transition allows me to focus on the future strategy of the organization that keeps us aligned with our mission, while empowering an outstanding leadership team to continue the upward trajectory of IAPS.”
Additionally, we’re thrilled to announce the following leadership promotions:
Amanda El-Dakhakhni has become Director, leading our compute policy team, with an increasing focus on policy engagement.
Zoe Williams has been named Managing Director, overseeing the organization’s day-to-day operations.
Renan Araujo steps into the role of Director of Programs, managing our talent, field-building, and convening initiatives.
These changes reflect our commitment to building a strong leadership team capable of advancing AI governance and policy. We're energized by this next chapter and the impact this team will drive together.
